Read the Manual
Everything you need to know about your Toyota is in the manual. Stick to the maintenance schedule to avoid costly problems and only use quality oil, fluids, and parts.
Pay Attention to the Warning Lights
When you start the engine, the ignition, battery, oil, coolant, and brake lights should flash briefly. If any of the lights stay on, it means that there is a problem. Take immediate action.
Check the Fluid Levels
Regularly check the levels of the oil, coolant, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and brake fluid.
Change the Oil and the Filter
Inspect and change your Toyota’s oil levels at regular intervals. Change the oil every three to six months, or every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Also, change the oil filter regularly.
Look After the Battery
Modern batteries are sealed and maintenance-free and can last more than three years. Make sure the battery has no cracks, leaks, or corrosion.
Inspect the Radiator
Watch out for leaks and blockages, and remove any debris in front of the radiator.
Keep an Eye on the Brake System
Don’t let your brake pads become too thin, because this will damage the discs, and possibly the calipers. Keep the brake fluids topped up. If you see any leaks, let a technician look at it immediately.
Rotate the Tires
Changing the position of the tires reduces uneven wear on the thread. Check the wear on the tires regularly. Check the tire pressure regularly for better handling. The tires will also last longer.
Replace the Wipers
Replace the wipers every 12 months, or when the rubber becomes worn. Also, make sure the wiper fluid reservoir is full.
A Bit of Love and Care
Wash, wax, and polish the exterior of your vehicle to protect the paint from scratches and fading. Treat the interior surfaces and upholstery with the necessary leather or vinyl conditioner to protect the material from wear and tear.
Regular Checkups
Refer to the service schedule and make sure your Toyota has a regular checkup based on the manufacturer’s recommendations. Do not exceed the recommended service intervals. Please contact us to arrange a service.
