St. Patrick’s Day is coming, which means its time to make a plan for how you want to celebrate. In the Rochester, MN area there are several Irish pubs and many bars that will serve up green beer and great food for this fun holiday. Here are some of the best St. Patrick’s Day pubs around Rochester.
Whistle Binkies Old World Pub
Head to Whistle Binkies Old World PubĀ for their St. Patrick’s Day celebration. They haven’t released any specific information yet for the 2019 party, but you are sure to get all your Irish favorites from corned beef & cabbage to Irish egg rolls and Guinness. Last year the St. Patrick’s Day specials included deals on Harp, Smithwick’s and Irish Car Bombs. You’ll find Whistle Binkies on Wellner Drive NW in Rochester and also on Woodlake Drive on the southeast part of town.
Dooley’s Pub
Dooley’s Pub on 1st Ave SW is a combination sports bar and Irish pub. You can get all kinds of Irish drinks here and a bite to eat too. It sits right in the heart of downtown Rochester and serves up a late night menu every night until 2 a.m. No matter what time of year it is, there is a game playing on the many TV’s and if you want to throw a special St. Patrick’s Day event, you can reserve a space for 15 guests or more.
The Half Barrel
The Half Barrel serves up great burgers, and delicious drinks. This is a great place to go for local beers, and there is a large bourbon and whiskey selection. This is a casual place but perfect for those who want a more upscale St. Patrick’s Day celebration. You can try a flight of bourbon, or one of their Only at the Barrel Cocktails. On tap, you’ll find Guinness, Toppling Goliath, and Fulton, along with Dragon’s Milk which is a barrel-aged Russian Imperial.
Pappy’s Place
Pappy’s Place is a great neighborhood bar with great food and a wide selection of beers and cocktails. The menu at Pappy’s features fresh food, soups made from scratch, and delicious steaks and burgers. Since St. Patrick’s Day is usually about the beer, you can also find your favorites here. On tap, there is Goose Island county bourbon stout and Goose Island Bramble rye stout. You can also get Founders breakfast stout and Guinness.
Kathy’s Pub
Kathy’s Pub doesn’t necessarily sound Irish, but it is a great place to go for St. Patrick’s Day. This sports bar is always hopping and features pool tables, live music, and a roof deck for warmer nights. You’ll find Kathy’s on S. Broadway right in Rochester, and if you want to throw a private party, this is the place to go.
