Toyota has always been an innovator. From the release of the Prius to the Safety Sense system, the global leaders in the automotive market always seem to have something to add to a seemingly flooded market. In 2020, Toyota continues its run of form with a number of intriguing new models. While details are still somewhat scant, the 2020 Toyota lineup has all the makings of a legendary class of automobiles.
2020 Toyota GR Supra
It’s finally happened. Toyota has revived the Supra after 17 years of speculation and rumors. For many fans of the brand, they thought this day would never come, but kudos to those who never gave up hope. In 2020, the Supra returns to the lineup as the Toyota GR Supra. A pure sports car of this variety has been absent from Toyota’s fleet for over a decade, but with superior styling and handling, the GR Supra is ready to blow minds and steal hearts.
Beneath the hood, the GR goes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged twin-scroll V-6 that delivers 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque for a zero to 60 mph of only 4.1 seconds to go along with a top speed of 155 mph. Masterfully crafted, the 2020 Toyota GR Supra is perhaps the most anticipated release of the year.
2020 Toyota Tacoma
Although the third generation of the Tacoma hit showrooms in 2016, Toyota refreshes its midsize truck offering to compete with new entrants and other competitors in the market. A redesigned grille, restyled taillights, and standard LED lights adorn the exterior of the 2020 Toyota Tacoma, while the interior gets a mishmash of new amenities.
At the heart of the interior upgrade is an 8-inch color touch-screen display that allows you to navigate the Entune 3.0 infotainment system, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include crawl control and a multi-terrain monitor for a precision off-roading experience, as well as all-new advanced and driver-assist safety features.
2020 Toyota Yaris Hatchback
When the original Yaris disappeared from the Toyota lineup and the Yaris iA became the new Yaris, it left a void in Toyota’s hatchback lineup. Fortunately, the Japanese automaker didn’t overlook this indiscretion. In 2020, the Yaris Hatchback hits dealerships offering versatility and fun in an affordable compact hatchback format.
Designed for commuters, families, and the thrifty, the 2020 Yaris Hatchback offers an exclusive mix of efficiency and capability. While Toyota has yet to release information on the engine, expect it to offer premium fuel efficiency paired with either a standard manual transmission or an optional automatic transmission.
The cockpit of the Yaris has also been completely redone, providing top-notch amenities you typically find in cars twice the price. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a backup camera, voice recognition, and a vibrant 7-inch color touch screen highlight the standout amenities of this all-new model.
Although the information is scarce on some of these models, Toyota’s impressive resume from recent years should only fuel your excitement. Look for these vehicles to hit showrooms later in 2019 or early in 2020.
