The undisputed leader of midsize trucks, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is out to wow you and tighten its grip on the segment while at it. Let’s explore what each of its eight trim levels brings to the table.

Trim Levels of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma

1. SR

The SR is the Tacoma’s work-spec truck, aimed at giving just about everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s got a peppy 228-hp turbocharged engine that should make light work of all your daily tasks, whether towing a small trailer or dropping the kids off at school.

You can choose between the XtraCab or the two-door Double Cab configuration. If you pick the former, you’ll get seating for two, plus a handy rear workspace and storage for your tools and gear.

2. SR5

Move to the SR5 for 50 more horsepower than the SR model, good-looking alloy wheels (the base trim gets steelies), body-matched rear bumpers, LED fog lights, and upgraded rear suspension (Double Cabs only). You’ll find enticing options here as well, including a ten-speaker JBL audio system, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and heated front seats.

3. TRD PreRunner

The PreRunner is exclusively two-wheel drive, making it a great option for those who stick mostly to the roads. What’s more, you’ll unlock a fold-flat passenger seat that transforms into an in-cab work surface, exclusive wheels, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, rear lockers, and automatic climate control.

4. TRD Sports

The title of the sportiest Tacoma goes to this model. It’s got a sport-tuned suspension, performance hood scoops, 18-inch wheels (one of the largest in the lineup), and other sports-oriented extras. It also introduces a powerful 326-hp hybrid engine.

5. TRD Off-Road

When adventure calls, the TRD Off-Road is all set to take you there and back. It features upgraded shockers by Bilstein, sturdy front skid plates, increased payload capacity, and an optional manual transmission that lets you take full control of your off-road experience.

6. Limited

The next level up is the Limited trim, a luxury truck that’ll spoil you with amenities like heated and cooled front seats, dual-zone AC, wireless charging, power running boards, optional adaptive variable suspension, and a head-up display.

7. Trailhunter

If you’re an overlander, you’ll love the Trailhunter. This model gives you the tools you need to make your journey a success, including a factory-installed lift, an improved suspension, and an onboard air compressor.

8. Pro

The Pro is the crown jewel of Toyota Racing Development (TRD). So, expect it to offer the best off-roading setup in the midsize truck segment, plus all the creature comforts you’d want in a truck. It’s that good!
