This year's model brings better performance, new tech features, and many trim choices to fit different likes and needs.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2025 4Runner comes in nine trims. The TRD Pro stands out with its unique FOX suspension, massive 33-inch Toyo all-terrain tires, and a unique Ice Cap color. It also has TRD Pro-exclusive styling and 18-inch wheels made of solid aluminum. The Trailhunter trim offers unique 18-inch bronze-finished wheels and a new Everest color. It's also lifted 2.5 inches with ARB Old Man Emu shocks. The SR5 trim comes with bright headlights and 17-inch wheels. The Platinum trim adds a sunroof that opens and heated side mirrors.
The TRD Sport trim has body-colored fenders and a scoop on the hood, while the TRD Off-Road has 16-inch wheels with tough tires and black fenders. The TRD Off-Road Premium adds LED headlights with dark trim and a unique TOYOTA front grille. The Limited trim looks luxurious with 20-inch wheels and a polished exterior trim. The new TRD Sport Premium trim combines the sporty look of the TRD Sport with additional premium features.
Engine (Power)
The 2025 4Runner offers a standard i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, delivering 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. For those seeking more power, an available i-FORCE MAX 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain outputs up to 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. This potent powertrain lets it tow up to 6,000 pounds.
Performance
The 2025 4Runner has an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes in two-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive, or full-time four-wheel drive options. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter models come standard with a new Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism for improved suspension articulation off-road. The SUV can also handle steep angles, with a front angle of up to 32 degrees and a back angle of up to 24 degrees.
Its Multi-Terrain Select system helps you drive on different terrains, such as mud, dirt, and sand. For slow off-road driving, there's a CRAWL Control feature. TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter grades have an electronic locking rear differential and a system to help drive downhill.
Interior
The 2025 4Runner includes an 8- or 14-inch touchscreen with the Toyota Audio Multimedia system, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Music fans will like the 14-speaker JBL sound system, which includes a portable speaker. Upscale models have a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, while lower trims have a 7-inch one. Some versions have third-row seating and second-row seats that can flip. All models have a Smart Key System with a button to start the car. The top-tier Platinum model has heated back seats, and the Trailhunter model has a 2400-watt power outlet for plugging in things.
Safety Features
The 2025 4Runner puts safety first, with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard across all trims. This includes systems to avoid crashes, keep the car in its lane, control speed, read road signs, and turn on high beams when needed. It also has systems to watch blind spots, warn about cars behind when backing up, and help start the SUV on hills. Some models include cameras to see around the vehicle.
