2021 Toyota Tundra
The Toyota Tundra is strong, capable, and reliable. This full-size pickup has a bold exterior look and cab options that provide space for people and gear. For the 2021 model year, Toyota added two limited edition packages to the lineup and some new exterior paint colors to replace outgoing color options. Take a look at the 2021 Toyota Tundra.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The SR is the entry-level trim and comes with 18-inch steel wheels, the Double Cab, a damped tailgate, and keyless entry. The SR5 adds fog lights, chrome accents, and variable intermittent wipers. The TRD Off-Road Package for the SR5 adds all-terrain tires, 18-inch wheels, skid plates, tow hooks, and LED headlights. Step up to the Limited for 20-inch alloy wheels and heated side door mirrors, or check out the new Trail Special Edition for 18-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, lockable bed storage, and a spray-in bedliner. If you opt for the new Nightshade Special Edition, you'll get 20-inch black alloy wheels and black exterior trim.
Bump up to the TRD Pro for BBS forged alloy wheels, a sunroof, and off-road shocks. Choose the Platinum for LED running lights and more chrome exterior trim. The 1794 Edition has a Texas ranch inspired look.
Engine (Power)
Every Tundra has a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that generates 381 horsepower, and it comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but any model can have the part-time four-wheel drive system that Toyota offers as an option.
Performance
The ride in the Tundra is smooth on the road, and if you want to take it off-road, the TRD Pro has the equipment to tackle rough terrain. When properly equipped, the Tundra can tow up to 10,200 pounds and carry up to a 1,730-pound payload.
Interior
Depending on the cab, the Tundra can fit up to six passengers. The larger cabs have plenty of headroom and legroom, and everyone sits on cloth upholstery in the lower trims and on leather in the higher-end trims. The Limited has heated front seats with power adjustment, and it also has a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Moving up through the trims to the Platinum will get you heated and ventilated front seats, upgraded leather, and memory settings for the driver's seat. The Trail Special Edition even adds insulated storage on the driver's side that can be used as a cooler.
Standard tech features in the Tundra include an 8-inch touch screen display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and a USB port. The Platinum upgrades the stereo to a 12-speaker system.
Safety Features
All of the 2021 Tundra models come standard with a number of advanced driver aids. In addition to a rearview camera, every trim has a forward-collision warning system, pedestrian detection, automatic braking, automatic high beam headlights, a lane-departure warning system, and adaptive cruise control. The Safety & Convenience Package is an available option for most trims except the Platinum, where it comes standard. It adds extra safety systems such as a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and both front and rear parking assist sensors.
