The fuel economy is where the difference is between the two hybrids. The Prime has a combined fuel economy of 52 mpg while the Prius Prime has a combined fuel economy of 133 mpg.
The 2018 Prius has a starting MSRP of $23,475 and seats five passengers with a passenger volume of 93 cubic feet. While the 2018 Prius Prime has a starting MSRP of $27,100 with four passenger seats and a passenger volume of 91 cubic feet.
As you can see, there are a few differences between the two Prius models. Drivers do not need to plug in the Prius to charge the electric battery, while the Prius Prime can be charged at public charging stations or at the home of the driver.
